i was reminded of this funky song upon reading a status update of a facebook friend - hadn't heard this song for yonky donks, but it is 'the bomb' .. sheila e was a total babe from the 80s - u gotta dig a chic who dances while playing the drums ..
i just caught the last half of adam sandler's movie 'little nicky' on tv - that's the price of working graveyard shifts and being a vampire .. lol .. anyway, apart from the cameo appearances from quite a few actors and actresses like patricia arquette, harvey keitel (the devil) dana carvey & reese witherspoon, i thought it was hilarious that they kept sampling an 80's one hit (pop) wonder or disaster - depending on how you choose to look at it ..
me - i just like to get a kick out of music - whatever the genre may be .. i'm not out to be a cool indie kid, a synth pop euro wave 80's lover, a death metal fan, or an emo goth freak - i could be any one of them or all of them, so don't judge me by my music, got it?
i googled it on youtube to check out the video clip (never watched it back then) but remembered the song in high school - and i was instantly reminded of stacey q - her song 'two of hearts'' .. how strange, i thought - cos this particular song came into my head only a week ago ..
in 'little nicky', they kept sampling the bars in the song where she sings - i..i..i..i..i..i.. need .. i need you - and just for the hell of it, i also added stacey q's only other popular song 'we connect' ..
