it's as if our souls spring forth from the same fountain of quirk, an elixir of eccentricity and enigma (or so i'd like to think anyway) lol .. she is just superb for being able to channel all that creative energy into her music ..
'wuthering' heights' holds a very dear place in my musical heart (for both the song, sentiment and movie) but tonight i felt like 'babooshka' was coming through to me - having just watched kate (in an interview) explain the meaning behind the song about a wife's suspicions and paranoia that her husband was cheating on her, she concocts a scheme to create a persona in luring him - 'babooshka' which is actually 'grandmother' in russian but kate just loved the sounding of the word (having grown up thinking it had something to do with fairytales) back then ..
well somewhere in my life, it resonated with someone close to me .. the madness that must go on for some women (or men) who feel deception going on around them - the helplessness and neurosis they find themselves being drawn in can be quite destructive .. this is just another purge to the universe saying, i understand and empathise with you .. lotsa love, even though you can't tell - more than you will ever know .. truly .. xxx
