this is the cure's highest ranking video played on youtube to date .. i was mesmerised by their gig last year when i saw them at the entertainment centre. after a couple of decades, their set was tight as ever and long time cure fans were not disappointed!

i totally dig robert smith .. he was a definite cutie back in the earlier days & matured like fine wine - oh, and i've even had a dream or two about him as well .. probably representative of some archetypal projections repressed again .. who knows ?

but i've always always had an infatuation with 'lullaby' .. that hypnotic bass beat .. the strings in the chorus .. spiders .. holes .. husky robert smith .. ooooh !!!

and how could i ever forget the epically hauntingly beautiful 'pictures of you' .. this is a definite tear (or soul) jerker track - we've all had that one 'heartbreak' story .. the one that left us in a tragic mess for weeks, months, even years ..

it makes it all the more mysterious to me when i can't put my finger on it .. it's as elusive as the caverns of the mind and the depths of the soul .. nostalgic interpretations imbued between abstract surrealism and feigned realism ..

i'm not sure if i've mentioned my love affair with certain smooth sultry jazz sounds yet .. but i have an immense addiction for the saxophone and the trumpet, not to mention that jazz makes me feel like the way a sassy sensual woman should feel when she's listening and dancing to jazzy tunes ..

i actually heard this song whilst cruising through the foxtel channels at my parents place - the background music is preset to one of the interactive air music channels (usually lounge music) and this song came on. it makes you just want to get up and dance in the lounge room and imagine yourself in havana in a not so seedy bar on the dancefloor ... or perhaps in a high rise chic apartment overlooking a cosmopolitan city like new york (central park west) just on nightfall with a glass of champagne lingering in your hand ..

ever since i left fbi 94.5 FM 3 years ago, i tune in when i can - over the years, my faves have been saturday morning's naked city', weeknights' 'sunsets' and whatever is on at the time when i'm in the car i guess .. but today, a new segment has taken out my top pole position!

'loose joints' on sunday arvos rocked my old retro soul sideways today with a few golden new but 'old' hits! new (to me), because i hadn't heard of the songs before today; old because some of the tunes are from the 70s (when i was born) .. woohoo! i get very excited when i stumble on new old stuff :)

anyway, i heard this rocking song from 70s rock band amadeo with a track called 'memories'. it sounds like it would be featured on the soundtrack to a porn film from the 70s, but i just dig the background riffs alrighty ..
